Blue Cheese & Bacon Burger

Updated: Feb 8, 2020

The ULTIMATE burger!

Blue Cheese & Bacon Burger

Ingredients

  • 500g minced beef

  • 1 egg

  • Sea salt

  • Black pepper

  • Oliver oil

  • 8 rashers bacon

  • 4 burger buns, I used white buns but you can use brioche if you prefer

  • Bbq sauce

  • Mustard

  • Tomato sauce

  • Mayonnaise

Method

Step 1

Place your minced beef to a large bowl. Add in a good pinch of salt and pepper and a splash of mustard. Crack in the egg and mix everything together. Divided the mixture into 8 and pat each into a round, flat shape about 2cm thick.

Step 2

Preheat a large fry pan on a high heat. Lay out your burger patties on a flat surface and place an indent in the middle of each one. Crumble the blue cheese into four of the patties and place the remaining patties on top. Squishing them down to the blue cheese doesn’t leak out when cooking.

Step 3

Fry off your bacon rashers in the hot pan for 5 minutes until nice and crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Step 4

Cook your patties, 2 at a time so they have enough space in the pan for 3-4 minutes a side flipping once to ensure a nice crispy crust.

Once cooked remove from the pan and quickly place your sliced buns, cut side down into the pan to warm through, about a 1 minute should do it.

Step 5

Once your buns are warmed, you are ready to serve.

I like to mix together my own burger sauce, in a small bowl mix together tomato sauce, mustard and mayonnaise. Add a generous spoonful to each bun and top with a burger patties and a couple of rashers of crispy bacon.

Serve with home cut chips and dig in to the delicious blue cheese core!
