Tasty Korean BBQ
Ingredients
600g rib eye steak, sliced
1/2 small pear, grated (don't worry about peeling it, the chemicals in the peel help breakdown the proteins in the meat)
60mls soy sauce
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
2 tablespoons sesame oil
3 cloves garlic, diced
1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean red pepper paste) or Sriracha
2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
2 spring onions, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
Method
Step 1
In a bowl, combine grated pear, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger and gochujang/sriracha. Add your sliced steak mixing to combine and marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Step 2
Heat a large cast iron skillet skillet until very hot. Add the marinated steak in batches and cook, flipping once, until charred and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Serve straight away over steamed rice, garnished with sesame seeds and sliced spring onions.
